Day 103: Integrating Literacy into Inquiry
While the students are off this week, all the teachers have week-long PD. Today I had to go to 3 mandated sessions: Common Core, Tri-State Discussion, and Literacy. Pictured are my notes from the literacy session. Great to see that modeling instruction is a perfect fit! Lots of emphasis on "claim-evidence-reasoning" has given me hope that what I'm doing in chemistry is a good thing, despite some student protest (see Day 102).
